Dear SCOPE Friends,
With summer days fading into Fall, we can now reflect on the wonderful camp experiences SCOPE provided to hundreds of children who attended camp with your support. We are already gearing up for summer 2015, with full expectations of sending more children in need to camp.
Successful fall events such as our 17th Annual Golf Tournament brought us closer to our year-end goal and helped us engage with a broad range of donors. SCOPE Southwest hosted a launch party on September 17th to generate interest and support for our newest affiliate in Austin, Texas.
Looking ahead to our new fundraising year, on November 15th SCOPE is hosting the 2nd Annual Cycle4Camp – an indoor cycling class to help SCOPE raise funds to send under-served children to camp. The SCOPE Young Leadership Council is also kicking into high gear once again this year with SCOPE Midwest’s YLC team hosting “SCOPE In The City” – a night for young professionals with a love of camp and passion for helping children in need on November 6th in Chicago. New York’s Young Leadership Council will hold its annual “Winter Social” on January 29th in NYC.
SCOPE seeks to expand its very successful Junior Leadership Council, made up of teens that are showing their support through fundraising projects in their communities and among their families and friends to donate to SCOPE. This is a great way to engage young people in philanthropy. Many middle and high school students have already raised significant funds for SCOPE camperships. Perhaps you have campers, family members and friends whose children would like to join this group. If so, please contact Rachael Hochberg, firstname.lastname@example.org for more information about this wonderful initiative.
In this issue of “SCOPE Matters,” you will find information and links to learn about our upcoming fundraising events and organizational updates within our four regions.
On behalf of our dedicated board of directors, I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued belief in SCOPE’s mission. With your involvement and ongoing support, we can truly provide children in need the edge to succeed in life! I look forward to collaborating with the SCOPE board, staff, and loyal supporters, and seeing you at our upcoming events. Thank you once again!
